How do I care for my Makhawar?

To keep your Makhawar looking its best for years to come, we recommend the following gentle care routine:

Hand Wash Only

Fill a basin with cool or lukewarm water and add a few drops of mild detergent suitable for delicate fabrics like Italian silk or cotton.

Do Not Scrub

Avoid scrubbing the fabric — this can damage both the material and the intricate beadwork.

Remove Excess Water Gently

Lay the garment flat on a clean, dry towel. Roll the towel with the garment inside and press gently to absorb moisture. Do not twist or wring the fabric.

Dry Flat

Air dry the piece by laying it flat on a clean surface, out of direct sunlight. Avoid hanging, as this may stretch delicate fabrics.

Ironing

If needed, iron on a low heat setting using a pressing cloth to protect beadwork and silk from direct heat.
